Driving to Denmark

Denmark is a pleasant country to drive in with high quality roads no mountains nor fjords to worry about and in most ways is a car-friendly country. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to have a car whether you are a tourist or a resident. Even though Copenhagen is busy it does not have any of the challenges for a driver that, say, Singapore, Bangkok, New York or Central London "offer."

From the UK, there are a number of ways to travel depending on your budget, preference and time-constraint. You could drive through Belgium via Germany into Denmark or take direct ferries from Harwich to Esbjerg. Depending on price/dates etc Harwich to Hamburg is another option especially if you are aiming for Lolland and Copenhagen. I strongly recommend www.drive-alive.co.uk which outlines all the different routes and options. It also has details of touring and hotel reservations. This site has an excellent section about travelling with animals which everybody considering travelling with their pets should study.

Safe driving.
